Introducing....

Liza Hahn

200 RTY

Counseling Intern

Here is a little from Liza and a littler about her approach to working with clients.

"I was introduced to yoga in high school as a way to ease the chatter in my mind and to quiet the itty-bitty "I am not good enough" committee that many teens (and adults) battle. I have taken a variety of classes including Yin, Restorative, Kundalini, Bhakti, Ashtanga, Bikram, Hatha, and Vinyasa. As I got older, and of course "wiser", I continued to practice yoga for stress relief, spiritual connection and social interaction. In addition, as a survivor of trauma and mental health challenges, yoga has provided me with coping strategies to live my best life.

As a current School Counselor, I use yoga and mindfulness as a way to connect with students, staff and family. I was blessed with the opportunity to become a 200 hour registered yoga instructor through an amazing program called Breathe For Change. Breathe For Change trains educators throughout the country to become yoga teachers and wellness coaches. Through this process, my love for yoga flourished and I began to embrace music, mantra, chanting and yogic philosophy as an expansion of my practice.

To bridge my two passions, I am currently working on my certification to become a Yoga/Holistic Counselor and acquiring supervised hours to gain my license in Professional Counseling. I look forward to helping adolescents and adults overcome personal challenges and tap into their own resiliency in order to live healthy and peaceful lives.

I encourage people of all abilities, body types, and ages to participate in yoga through modifications and personal assists. I truly believe that yoga is for every-body! I also encourage laughter, fun and reflection through a variety of postures and music playlists. My sessions are taught in Vinyasa style and range in pace (slow, medium and power flows).

Life is hard enough, yoga is break from the noise. You deserve it! "
